Peugeot 106 Electric - Osa

Message par Osa » mar. 25 02 , 2020 12:49

This topic is to introduce the car I bought and ask for help with the car when I need it.
I introduced myself here

I bought a Peugeot 106 which is still in excellent factory condition.
It has SAFT NiCd batteries, now in the winter days I can still do 70km (factory range was 80km). The car has everything in operation, webasto heating, sunroof, power steering, remote central locking, electric windows, energo meter accuracy is in 1% ... overall the car is in good condition. I use it for go to work and do about 40km daily. My problem is that I cannot use one charge for 2 days because I will not come home second day. When I get home after the first day, the battery stays at 55%. That's not enough for the next day. The problem is that on half way, I have a big uphill slope and on returning home I would stay on that hill with some 20% battery and go 10km/h uphill.
Edited text:
So instead of driving for two days and risking being left on the road with an empty battery, I drive one day and charge every night. But then I drive little more aggressively to drain the battery more . By more aggressive I mean not to drive constantly 70-80A but driving at 120-150A. If I'm wrong, tell me?
Sometimes I go in the evening to take a lap or two around the place to drain more the battery before charging through the night.

In this "PSA Generation 1" forum I read BiblioTech topic and most of the topics about P106 and Saxo.

There are some things I would like to do, so here I am.
- tell me how harmful it is if I recharge my batteries from 30/40% to 100%? Once a week I empty it it to 0% and fill it full to 100%.

- I have made 3000km since purchase so it is time to do the first battery water refill

- I need to check the condition of the engine brushes (I'm not entirely sure how)

- the back of the car is quite low, I should somehow lift it up

- I have a sunroof and shade on sunroof. When I move that gray shade is very noisy and creaking. How to disassemble roof shade and lubricate it?

My future plan is:
- put an android radio so I can have a checkelec app on it (some recommendations of cheap android radio?)

- I wonder if there is any better battery monitoring than spaghetti monitoring? Maybe some bluetooth bms that would only serve for voltage display and monitoring?

- install switch on the power steering pump now on winter days when the oil is thick. Since pump it is noisy sometimes you want silence "start" the car

- I wonder if I can increase the regenerative braking current greater than 75A in the checkelec app? Is higher current consuming more brushes?

- can I have somehow 2 drive modes (eco and normal)? Sometime for longer driving I want limit gas pedal on 70A. Because do that with foot is very hard. I have a "heavy" leg so I unknowingly start driving under 120A and that reduce my range.

- I noticed a few drops of antifreeze under the back battery, I need to remove the battery and check the hose connections

- can I install some device (like a cycle analyst) to see how much power in watt car consume in real time and how much watt has been spent from charge to charge?

- get some nice interesting alloy wheels for summer tires. Currently in on 13 " steel wheels, do you go for 14" wheels? Maybe 15 "?

- And do you have any other recommended mods that I can do on car, and what to care about?

I have more questions, but they don't come to my mind right now, I will write when I remember.

Please members who drive P106 or Saxo please write your experiences :)

Thank you

Je me suis présenté ici

Si je me trompe, dites-moi?

wellcome !
Where are you from ?

The problem is that half way up, I have a big uphill slope and on returning home I would stay on that hill with some 20% battery and go 10km / h uphill. So I drive more agressive to juice up battery and then must refill it from 40%. Is that harmfull?

it is not very good for your engine , collector, the engine brushes and battery.
You must stay in green of econometer, this ok ? After ..this is your car ... :(

Better to unload at 15/30%
and fully charge 100%
You can unload at 5 10% ounce at week.

- I would like to know what if I sometimes recharge the battery from 50% to 80% and stop charging because I have to go. Is it harmful for battery to stop charging before 100%?
- When I open the marschal cover on side of the car, the charging does not stop. What should be wrong and what to check? Some switch on that cover?
- I sprayed the rubber around door with silicone spray. Because an ignorant person told me it was good foor rubber. And now that rubber is constantly noisy creaking on the door while driving. How to solve it? I tried spray rubber with WD40 but it last for 2-3 days and start creak again.

no but you have to drive immediately afterwards to reverse the chemistry in the batteries.

The load must be cut!
but not the cooling water pump!
When you open the hatch, only the power is cut.
Otherwise yes you have to check.
a specific point on the hatch is the contact in the hatch.

It seems to me that the ribs of the foundry part are deliberately broken so that the contact can change state, it is for this reason that I have this part even more, so that the pipion can slide without catching.

With opening and closing the hatch (marschal cover) nothing is happening. In the beginning, first few times when I needfed I stop charging with unpluging cable on CEE blue socket. Because on unpluging on suko make litle spark because of high power (2.3kW). Now I stop charging trought smart wifi socket

Oh, that will be nice to have

Today I bought 15L of demineralized water. In the evening, when I get home from work, I will put car on a maintenance charge and in the morning I will do the my first watering. I have read the instructions several times, I hope i don't do anything wrong:
- before filling in, at the evening in checkelec app I choose maintenance charging
- in the morning when the orange light is on, I unplug the charging cable
- I pour water through the funnel from right to left into sockets 1-4 until I see under the car that water comes out (this must be done within 30min)
- I delete the water alert in the app
- after water filling I will drive 5-10km

is that right or I miss something?

You have a problem here !

For a maintenance charge ( in french MEE ( "M"ise "E"n "E"au))
The water should flow gently
I think it's OK !!

You can program the maintenance charge time for the night
With:
100% -% remaining = charge time C1
C1 + 5 hours = the time of the mantenance charge.
I use a 24 h manual programmer.

I think it is not good for the charger to cut off the power via the Blutooth.

Thank you for help. This intruction help me alot too. Today I made the first water refill (MME). The car was charging from evening 23h to 11h in the morning. In morning I monitored the consumption of charging through the smart wifi socket. As described in the instructions on page 53 every 28min long pause, is a 2min charge time. And as soon as the 2min charge ~ 1900-2000W stopped and dropped to 9W. I immediately unplugged the cable and started filling the water. In the first two connectors go 1.5L water in each for the back battery and a little less water for front battery. Overall, I consumed 4.2L of water on the whole charge, which doesn't seem very much. When the water started flowing under the car (quantities for one glass) I switched refilling to the next conector. So almost ~ 1L went for the overflow. After refilling I deleted the warning in app checkelec and went to drive ~8km. The whole refilling process took 10-15min.
The first screenshot is from 16.12.2019. when I buy car and come home. Second screenshot is from yesterday before I started maintenance charging, and third is from today after MME and reset counter on 0.
Image Image Image
Can you explain me what exactly mean Discarge and Overcharge and shouldn't they also reset to 0 ?

Here is "expert menu" from checkelec. Can you go trought my parameters and check if is something wrong or strange? It is something here that I can change on better?
It is somewere explained all that fields from checkelec?
If not, can you explain this fields what it means:
Max supply current?
Nominal capacity ->shouldn't it be at 100Ah?
Gauge is for calibration of energometer needle?
Voltage treshold is 163V, but when charging is finished and I unplug the cable, battery is on 142V (I think). Is that ok?
Pilot meter 21Ah?
all 4 fields of Ah counters?
Limitation current (Ilim)?
Motor brake current: 75A - may I change to higher?

Image

What voltage is off full/ empty batery pack, and what off single block?
Battery pack: Full 142V, empty 100V ?
Single block 6V: Full __, empty __ ?

the back of the car is quite low, I should somehow lift it up
To raise the back of the car take a look at this lowering guide in reverse

http://www.suzukituning.com/PSA/Suspension/Lowering.htm

I also did this to my saxo worked well. but it whas difficult to remove the torsion bar the first time.

I make a simple tool to hold the suspension arm in place when i fitted the torsion bar.

good luck.

Good,
perfect, but you can let more water flow, to better fill the batteries.

Battery pack: Full 1xx V, empty 95 V
Single block 6V: Full 7,xx, empty 5 at 5,xx 4,75vdc stop !!!

look at Motor => power limitation
105 vdc and 95 vdc
105 / 20 = 5.25 vdc/ batt
95 / 20 = 4,75 vdc / batt

in battery parameter:
90 Ah is to have a safety margin.
Personally I put 87 Ah, so as not to go too low.

I will post my parameters to you in diag 31 version;)

To raise the back of the car take a look at this lowering guide in reverse  http://www.suzukituning.com/PSA/Suspension/Lowering.htm
Thank you

Traduct :
Hello friends,
All this text in a foreign language (English) is perfectly illegible for me: oops:: oops:
The usual language of this forum is French, thank you for respecting it by making at least the effort to add the texts in translation.
In my opinion english is worldwide known language and understandable to almost everyone. Posting in two languages will be little a mess and look like duble post with double pictures. But I respect your request and I will edit my posts with translation.
